It’s still very much a work in progress, but the So You’ve Just Been Diagnosed page is now live. Any additions anyone has, whether that’s advice, books, resources, or blog listings, are very much welcome.
Thanks everyone for your help with this! You all rock! 💖💖💖
This is fantastic!
Thank you!
Yay! Well done Ashley! <3
Thank you! 💕
😁💝
Wow!!! 👍🏻👌🏻🤩 This is fantastic! Well done, must have been a lot of work! It looks fabulous and I hope it may help many people who just got their diagnosis and are wondering “what now?”. 😊
Plus I may have followed a few of the blogs you mentioned here and there 😇
👍
Thank you!
You’re very welcome 🌹
Lordy but that is a boatload of information. You may talk slow and softly but you think fast and loud.
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful list of resources! Great you gave it a separate page ❤️
Thanks!
Awesome! 😀
Thank you!
Awesome idea and great article
Thanks!
No problem
Is it ok if I list your blog as an ADHD resource?
Definitely
Great!
Can you also mention Inflow, the blog I write? It’s one of the best resources I’ve seen for ADHD? https://www.getinflow.io/blog
Definitely!
Thanks:)
Also I can give you a few more ADHD and peer support resources if you want to add to your list
Sure, that would be great!
Sounds good I’ll gather some for you i did a Twitter post and tagged inflow because they’re trying to get more coverage and I really like it.
Fabulous!
I wish TotallyADD was still active and Rick didn’t quit i miss writing for them and they helped me so much in my own recovery but they wanted to retire.
Oh that’s really too bad.
I thought so but what can you do
What do you think of our government finally adding dental and pharma care to our national healthcare? I’m hoping it goes through because it would be so helpful to people lol I hate paying for the dentist even with insurance; it’s costly.
I haven’t been paying attention to the news, so I didn’t realize they were going from just talking about it to actually doing something about it. I really hope it goes through.
Same and I’m not sure if they laid out when it’ll happen but I heard the dental portion will be between 2022 & 2025.
That would certainly be good to have.
Excellent idea! I have a history of being diagnosed with a mental health problem. I feel as though if these resources had been made available to me back then my own recovery would have been less difficult for me. Thank you for supporting those who are being treated for mental illness.
Thanks!
Yes. This is so awesome!!!
Are you taking input from others, because it may take me a bit, but there is a lot that I have learned through the last 19+ years of working with the same therapist. I also spent over 35 years engaged deeply in my eating disorder. It took me over 6 months of physical separation from my family, in another state to recover 8 years ago.
It is a lot of my life, damage to my body, you name it… but I have great resources of others who have gone on in more public forums. Just reading your intro, sounds so much like my life.
Congratulations Ashley. This is already doing great things
The more input, the better! And take your time.
Great. You started something that WILL make the world a better place.
Even just in helping people with a MH diagnosis know that they aren’t Alone and in my opinion they are more common than most people like to think. I hate the world normal…
I don’t know that I could ever be described as normal in any facet of my being…
When I met a new doctor there are a few things I say the 1st time we speak,
1) you will never be bored with me as your patient.
2) please throw away the word normal from your vocabulary, in every form, when it comes to me.
My body will hear you and take it as a direct challenge to prove I am different.
3) Lastly one of my personal favorites
“Medically speaking,
In a field of 🐎 horses 🐎, I am the unicorn 🦄 🦄 🦄 “
Power to the unicorns!!!
Ahhh YES
I posted “An Old Companion” a poem about my issues with addiction. I hope you can check it out 😉
It’s fantastic! I’ve added it as recommended reading on addictions.
Oh wow, thanks. It has always reminded me that I don’t ever want to go back.
Definitely a good thing to have
Congratulations Ashley. This is a wonderful idea and resource.💗
Thank you! 💕
Looks great! Very well thought out. Hopefully it reaches and helps a lot of people.
Thanks! I hope so.
Once again, you’ve outdone yourself.
Thanks so much!
<3 🙂
💖💖
Amazing!
Thank you!
Great news! Congratulations, Ashley Leia. Cheers 😊👍
Thanks so much! 💖
A pleasure.😊
Ashley how do I reblog your post. I want to let people know where to find it.
Explain like you are talking to a 1st grader… if it is alright of course
If you look at the post in the WordPress Reader, there’s a sort of sideways shaped V symbol with the word “share” beside it. If you click that, it’ll show a little drop-down menu that will include your blog name. Click that, and it will create a reblog post, and you just need to click publish.
Ashely, congratulations! This is such a fantastic and valuable project! I’m sure many people will benefit from this- including myself.
Thank you! 💕
Thanks soooooooo very much, dear Ashley, for your fight, for your courage, for your never give up ness, for your time, for your care, for your tenacity. You reach out, still, even from the depths of dark times, at times. You give me hope. You inspire me. Ashley, you make me want to try harder, make me want to BE better. For you, for those who respond to your blog. I have learned from each and every commenter. Although, I have never been diagnosed with a condition, as a woman, as a person of color in these divided times, it takes all within me to stay joyful and hopeful. You and ALL commentors. I pray for each one, every day, and you get extras. KNOW
