Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2020 brings wonderful things for all of you.
I’ve never done new year’s resolutions. January 1 feels like a very arbitrary time to start doing something new or different, and if there was something important to do I would have done it already.
Still, it makes for a good time to reflect on the year gone by (which I’ve been doing for the past week) and think about goals, plans, and ideas for the year that’s beginning. Because the effects of my illness are somewhat unpredictable, I try to avoid too many specifics that may end up not being feasible.
I plan to publish another book this year; that I’m pretty sure is going to happen since it’s mostly written already. I’ve also got a shorter book in progress that I plan to release on the Mental Health @ Home Store.
Aside from that, though, I mostly just want to keep on doing what I’ve been doing, because the blogging and other mental health writing is such an important part of my recovery journey. Whatever specific twists and turns it ends up taking will just be a welcome part of the ride.
Do you have any New Year’s resolutions or major goals for the year?
There are a couple of new freebies that have recently been added to the Mental Health @ Home Store
My Health Portfolio will help you to collect all of your important health information in one place so it’s ready whenever you might need it.
The Year-End Review & New Year Planning guided journal was just released last week; it will help you to reflect on what’s happened in the past year and come up with some goals and plans for the new year.
Wishing you all the best in 2020! I am excited for your next book!
Thanks! Happy New Year!
I don’t do New Year’s resolutions either and have not done so for i don’t how many years. But I do goals. Goals which I have only done and concentrated on in the last few years.
I have goals this year, which these goals for me the aim behind them is so that I have something to look forward to in this year ahead. These goals are day trips. More than I would usually do.
This I hope will help to make this year a nit easier and give me motivation, while also possibly working on a long term goal. Thst long term goal I will observe over the next 2 years, before fully deciding.
More day trips sounds like a great goal that could be a great stress reliever.
Happy new year! Put me down as someone to review the book prior to publication day! My main goal this year is to grow my business to 20 clients a week (my ideal full caseload).
That sounds great! Happy new year!
I’ve never understood the new year’s resolution thing besides for me, the new year begins in September – a throw-back to when September marked the beginning of a new school year and my birthday is in October…it’s September that fills me with happy anticipation – still after all these years. (I will definitely check out your health portfolio guide – I could use that for my husband’s health history. It’s getting hard to remember…)
For much of my life September was what marked the new year, and it took quite a few years after I finished school for that to change.
Happy New Year, Ashley! 2 new books this year? Way to go!! 🙌🏽❤️
Thank you! 💕
Same I don’t do resolutions
I think that’s a good approach.
Same
Good luck on your new book! I hope to finish graduate school by December! If not, May 2021!
Thanks! And good luck to you too!
I agree with you you know. I believe that a new year or a new decade or a new day or a new anything is not a worthy guarantee for changes or decisions to be made; I mean the desire change can strike you anywhere anytime, but I also believe that the new year most times serves as a wake up call to some of us. The realization of time flying suddenly dawns.
Congrats and good luck on your books!
Happy new year! 🌛🌛😄
Thanks! Happy new year to you too!
I want to be kinder to myself, to stop punishing myself when I don’t do something I said I was going to do, hence why I’ve stopped doing New Year’s resolutions 🙂
Very good idea!
I read recently that the only way to do New Year’s resolutions is to say your resolution is to not have any resolutions. That way you keep it Every Single Year; a complete success!
Love it!
Thought you would 😉
Happy new year!! YAY!! 2020 will rock!! I’m glad your blog will be here every morning at 11:00 to start my day!! The psychology terms posts and the weekend updates are my faves!!
😊
My goals aren’t anything big. They are small things that will just happen when they happen. If I make a big goal, I will fail. I can’t wait to find out what your new projects will be about
😊
Happy New Year
