So You Know (S.Y.K.)

So you know

It’s time for So You Know (S.Y.K.) over at Revenge of Eve.  If you’re interested in participating, here are the guidelines:

  • here are no right or wrong answers… Your answers = Your opinion = Your life
  • Answer a few or one, whatever you are comfortable with
  • Pingback to any S.Y.K. post
  • Use the hashtag #SYK to tag your post
  • Be real. If you feel a certain type of way, say it. You were asked your opinion (double dog dare)

This week’s questions are:

  • As a parent do you feel safe leaving the world in your children hands? Explain why or why not
  • If you are child-free, do you feel we (humans) are heading in the right direction, as a whole?
  • What do you consider the biggest difference in your generation and your parents generation? Compare the two using a positive impact and its negative effects.
  • Do you feel like an old soul? Or a youngster? Why?
  • What era would you chose to live in if given the chance?

My answers:

As a parent do you feel safe leaving the world in your children hands? Explain why or why not.  This question doesn’t really apply to me, but I would trust my guinea pig children to run things more than I would Donald Trump….

If you are child-free, do you feel we (humans) are heading in the right direction, as a whole?  I suppose it would depend on what you consider the right direction.  We’re well on our way to destroying the planet, so that’s a problem.  Peace and harmony hasn’t happened before and it’s still not happening, so I’m not sure there’s been too much of a change in direction there.

What do you consider the biggest difference in your generation and your parents generation? Compare the two using a positive impact and its negative effects.  Technology is probably the biggest thing.  Even though I don’t personally buy into the whole hyper-connected social media-driven phenomenon, technology makes it much easier to do basic tasks.  My parents have adapted somewhat, but my dad hung onto his old school bankbook as long as he possibly could, and they refuse to get a cellphone.  They’re very skeptical of online shopping, whereas I love it because it means I don’t have to deal with real people.

Do you feel like an old soul? Or a youngster? Why?  I feel old in that I don’t get what’s popular with the “kids these days”.  It was probably in my early 30s that I started actually thinking of myself as an adult.  Now I have nowhere near enough energy to even pretend to be young.

What era would you chose to live in if given the chance?  This one is plenty – no more needed.  Plus I’m very fond of indoor plumbing, so that would limit things.

Same here–my dad not only doesn’t use a cellphone, he doesn’t understand how to use a computer!! Oh, actually… it’s funnier than that. He uses a TYPEWRITER. It’s an IBM Wheelwriter, or something. By the time tech came along, he’d already decided he had no affinity for it. As in, he can’t understand how to use word documents. Fortunately, he has me to help him with his legal docs! And, although I’m obviously not a lawyer, I regularly receive email from the bar! 😀 (He was supposed to give them an email address, so he gave them mine!)

Yep, l agree with Beckie, l would vote for the GP’s as well, perhaps they make more sense of Brexit than the lot currently over here trying to tell us and sell us on the idea that they do!
Scrappy is putting dibs in for running the nutritional side to their administration!
