Health professionals are required to continually update their knowledge related to their field of practice. One of the nice things about the digital age is that it’s easy to access continuing education activities online, and many of them are available at no cost. I freely admit that I’m a geek and I love learning new things, so I thought I would share some of the sites that I use to keep up to date. Since they’re geared toward health professionals rather than the general public some of the more in-depth info might be a little hard to follow, but I think it could still be informative.
- American Psychological Association Trauma Division: webinars on trauma-related topics
- Global Medical Education: This site has a broad selection of webinars on mood disorders and psychopharmacology.
- Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Academy: This site has webinars on a variety of topics including PTSD.
- NAADAC Association for Addictions Professionals: webinars aimed at addictions counsellors
- National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder: This site has a 6-module online course about BPD.
- PCSS (Providers Clinical Support System): This site has a ton of content regarding opioids and opioid replacement therapy.
- Rivermend Health Institute: This site has webinars on eating disorders and addictions as well as other related topics
- Univadis: This has talks on assorted topics including personality disorders.
- US Department of Veterans Affairs National Center for PTSD: Some of the webinars are quite specific to PTSD in veterans, but many have broader applicability as well.
I hope you find something that’s of interest to you 🙂
