3 days, 3 quotes tag – The Anne of Green Gables edition

I’ve been tagged by A Guy Called Bloke and K9 Doodlepip for 3 days, 3 quotes and tag 3.  I’m going to pull a cheat-o-rama and do 3 quotes in 1 day.  The quotes are all from Anne-with-an-e of Anne of Green Gables, one of my favourite book series when I was a child.

AnneOfGreenGables

“I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I’ve never been able to believe it. I don’t believe a rose WOULD be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage.”

“Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it… Yet.”

“Next to trying and winning, the best thing is trying and failing.”

  1. I love ‘Anne Of Green Gables’ and so did my grandmother before me. She always used one of Anne’s expressions for having a bad day as a “Jonah Day,” I do the same. Good choices.

  2. Hey!! You stole my favorite Anne of Green Gables quote! “Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it… Yet.” LOVE IT! What was the name of her favorite teacher who said that? I can’t remember. I read these books (through Anne of the Island) a million times and watched the miniseries a million times as a kid!! Woo hoo!!
